The ATP tour visited Dubai for the first time in 1993 and since then the tournament has won the ATP World Tour 500 award 10 times in 11 years (2003-06, 2008-13).
The top stars are always in attendance, with many pushing for the tournament to be awarded ATP 1000 status.
Andy Murray became the first British champion of the DDFT Championships in 2017, as he defeated Fernando Verdasco 6-3, 6-2, in the 25th Anniversary of the tournament.
The countdown to the much anticipated 2018 Championships has begun, as Dubai gets set to once again welcome the world’s best players.
The 2018 competition should follow previous years’ formats with the WTA tournament being run from February 19-24, followed by the ATP tournament from February 25 – March 3.
